We got snowed in recently. On the scale of being snowed in, it wasn’t particularly dramatic, but on the scale of being snowed in in Oregon it was a lot more than we’re ever really prepared for.
Anyhow, I decided that, what with all my weekend plans being canceled with prejudice, I might as well spend some time with Logic Pro on my iPad.1 And I actually wound up with something that I liked! So, after a several-year long gap I’ve now published a second single.
Part of the fun was that this was a one-day project. The title was really a reminder to myself, to slow down, enjoy the feeling of making something, and not get over my skis2 and try to make it perfect. And it, at least sorta, worked! Are there things I’d like to keep tinkering with and changing? Yes, of course. Am I going to let myself do that ad infinitum? No, I decided, I won’t.
Anyhow, give it a listen; I hope you’ll enjoy!
- Please don’t ask me how long it’s been on there. The answer, in combination with the fact that it is a paid subscription, is embarrassing. ↩
- What, did you expect me to not make a single snow day pun? (Fun fact: the alternate title was “snowday”, but I was told that sounded ‘too cheerful’ for what this piece is.) ↩
